Grace Episcopal School has a part-time (15 hours/week) Physical Education faculty position available for the 2017-2018 school year. The Physical Education program at Grace is designed to develop and encourage an awareness of gross motor, social and health skills. Physical fitness and health skills are presented and practiced to encourage a life of physical activity, good sportsmanship and healthy choices. In the early grades, the focus in P.E. is on the development of balance, coordination and agility through the SPARK Physical Education program. Specific sport and fitness skills are continued in grades three through five with good sportsmanship encouraged and emphasized at all times.
The mission of Grace Episcopal School is to nurture a learning community that promotes academic excellence in the Episcopal tradition, and encourages spiritual growth, moral responsibility, and service to others. We educate the whole child intellectually, spiritually, physically, and socially, and build a solid foundation and enthusiasm for lifelong learning.
Founded in 1959, Grace Episcopal School provides an academically challenging and developmentally appropriate education for children in Preschool through Grade 5. Our strong academic program emphasizes the basic tools of learning: reading, writing, and mathematics. The curriculum is varied - rich in music, literature, drama, art, history, science, computers, physical education, and spiritual development – all taught in an enriching and nurturing environment. Our students receive personal attention in small classes and learn to be critical thinkers and successful problem solvers.
