The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks an experienced lower school teacher to cover a grade four parental leave from August 2017 until on or about 1/10/2018. Guided by the theory and practice of the Responsive Classroom, our teachers focus on the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child to create a nurturing and stimulating environment in which to learn. Lower school teachers work as members of collaborative teams to deliver a program that is child-centered and focused on developing a lifelong love of learning for our students. Classroom teachers provide inquiry-based instruction in language arts, math, social studies, and life skills.
