St. James' Preschool is looking for a highly qualified, warm and sunny preschool teacher to join its small but invigorated faculty! We have a staff of 12 and work in a lovely facility in the heart of Koreatown. Minimum of 24 units in Early Childhood Education with at least 12 months of experience working with preschool children or currently enrolled in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college
BA degree in Early Childhood Education or the completion of at least 2 semester units in Early Childhood Education each quarter following initial employment until degree is earned
Expertise in Child DevelopmentFirst Aide and CPR Certification or willingness to complete training
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice and classroom management
Knowledge of Early Literacy across the Curriculum
Develop skills in Anti-bias Curriculum
Provide a safe and secure environment and ensure that children are supervised at all times
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of the children
Submit approved bi-weekly timesheets in a timely manner
Attend all mandatory meetings and events
Provide nutritious snacks and supervise children during all meal times
Supervise children during specialty classes such as yoga and soccer
Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well maintained and safe at all times
Follow the established curriculum as directed and discipline children as needed in a nurturing and supportive manner
Follow emergency procedures and ensure children are safe
