Sidwell Friends, a coeducational Quaker day school with campuses in Washington, DC, and Bethesda, MD, seeks a part-time teacher for its Upper School course offerings in European history and United States history for the 2018-2019 school year. Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in History or a related field (an advanced degree is preferred) and teaching experience, preferably at the high school level. A deep understanding of both European and United States history, politics, and culture is required. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to inspire and support students and will show a willingness to work collaboratively and thrive in an environment committed to academic excellence. An appreciation for adolescents and a sense of humor are also essential.
